Professor Ratan Lal who teaches History at University of Delhi arrested on Friday Night.
Prof. Ratan Lal had shared his thoughts on Gyanvapi Mosque Shivling Issue on Social Media. Several right wing activists objected his post, an FIR was registered against him on Tuesday based on a complaint filed by Advocate Vineet Jindal.
Professor Ratan Lal was arrested under IPC 153A and 295A for promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion and race and deliberate act to outrage religious feelings, said police sources.
