Karnataka Cong demands Bajrang Dal leaders’ arrest over arms training to students

The Karnataka Congress on Monday has demanded the arrest of leaders of the right-wing group Bajrang Dal for providing arms training to students on the school premises in the Madikeri town of Kodagu district.

“Arms training in Madikeri has challenged the law of our land. Do we have a home minister or an education minister in Karnataka? Is the government still alive?” Said Congress leader Siddaramaiah.

MLAs M P Appachu, KG Bopaiah, and Suja Kushalappa took part in the Shaurya Prashikshana Varga event of the Bajrang Dal, he claimed, further asking, “Do they have any commitment towards our constitution?”

The former Chief Minister said that the arms training is against the law and Home Minister Araga Jnanendra should file a case against the leaders of Bajrang Dal and arrest them.

Siddaramaiah also suggested that Education Minister BC Nagesh should take action against the school authorities for allowing the right-wing group to organize ‘illegal’ activities within the premises.

“BJP should clarify their relationship with organizations like the Bajrang Dal, Hindu Jagarana Vedike, and others which are involved in illegal activities,” he said.

“Has BJP granted any special concession to communal organizations like Bajrang Dal and Sri Rama Sene to disturb the peace in our state?” The Congress leader further asked.
