Demanding a caste census across the country, the Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation(BAMCEF) has called for a Bharat Bandh on Wednesday.
There has already been a demand from many states regarding this, but the centre has not taken any decision regarding this till now.
“Our Bharat Bandh movement has been supported by Rashtriya Parivartan Morcha, Bharat Mukti Morcha, Bahujan Mukti Morcha and many other organizations,” BAMCEF President Vaman Meshram told Live Mint.
Besides caste census, some other demands will also be raised, including the non-use of EVMs in elections, providing reservation to SC, ST and OBC in the private sector, guaranteeing MSP to farmers and demanding non-implementation of CAA and NRC.
However, it is unlikely that the Bharat Bandh will be much effective as BAMCEF does not have a huge base across the country. So far, the organisation does not even have support from a major political party.
