In the latest attack of a mass murder in the United States, a teenage gunman on Tuesday killed as many as 19 young children and two adults at an elementary school in Texas.
The attack in Uvalde was the deadliest US school shooting in years, and the latest in a spree of bloody gun violence across the country.
The 18-year-old suspect identified as Salvador Ramos was killed by police on spot. He had also shot down his own grandmother before fleeing from the scene, then crashed his getaway car and launched a bloody rampage with a handgun and a rifle, wearing body armor at Robb Elementary School, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sergeant Erick Estrada said on CNN.
It was one of the deadliest attacks since the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut, in which 20 children and six staff were killed.
